Reacquaintances often ask me “What happened to Sedona’s Y?”  The piece’s 7 x 7 grid reflects the sophistication of the site plan as well as the timeshare industry’s penchant for affording benefits to the 49 states other than the one in which their project is located.  The project’s signature element, its rock filled columns, are appropriated from a decades old cutting edge Phoenix Bus Stop element, and reflect the esteem with which these outsiders hold Sedona.  Finally, the copper leaching from the backs of the spear heads penetrating Sedona's former heart, represent Arizona’s taxpayers on whom are borne the financial and aesthetic burden of this tenured professor of architecture at Arizona State University.
