     I believe that the covenant of talent is that it should be reciprocated with others.

How is Todd Gilmore?

     Architecture is the mother of Art. It requires consolidating a wide bandwidth of classical talents-from mathematics to aesthetics. I synthesize a background in Architecture with an absorbent mind to execute works which resonate.

Why do you work in Portfolios?

     The challenge of innovating within a constrained paradigm provides a focal point for me to winnow out the extraneous.

What inspired the 2 x 2' Squares Portfolio?

     I have always been intrigued by Andy Warhol's insights about how liberating sameness can be.

What inspired the Bill of Rights Portfolio?

     My reverence for Mother Nature.

How do you select your Portraits?

     Pieces in this portfolio tend to reflect those that have influenced me for better or worse.

What are Sacred Cows?

     Webster's defines a Sacred Cow as "one that is often unreasonably immune from criticism or opposition." I believe in the power and role of Art to get people to think.

Why do you do Sculpture?

     It provides an outlet for me to explore my fascination with shade and shadow.

What is Artspeak?

     I was introduced to this notion by a couple of Art cognoscenti who told me "Todd, in Artspeak, this body of work would be called 'constructions.'" It then struck me, that like an oenophile, Art has a jargon unto itself to facilitate the need to qualify.

Who inspires you?

     Those people who exhibit the conviction to follow their dreams.

What are the logistics of a piece from conception to completion?

     The majority of the time, I will not start a piece until I know exactly what I want to execute. I am not a "let's see if this would look cool" kind of guy. Usually an observation or heard phrase will plant the seed of where I want to go. I'll then think about it until the final product is confirmed. I believe genius is knowing when to stop, and I employ the rule of thumb that I stop when I cry at a piece's power.

What is your goal?

     To utilize Art to purge hypocrisy from my life.
